With COOL*SAFE to Tenerife – resolving problems caused by a faulty thermostat in a hotel fridge

Travel Story

Following a recent diagnosis of osteoporosis, I was prescribed medication which requires to be kept refrigerated, between 2°- 8°c. Whilst this is not difficult at home, I was very apprehensive at how I would be able to manage this during a planned trip abroad. I had found several products online which claimed to be able to keep medical products cool, but not at the specific temperatures required and certainly not for the period of time my journey would take (approximately 12 hours, not including time for any delays in flights etc).

Thankfully a friend recommended Cool*Safe travel products which she personally had used during her travels and I set off with my husband in December for a week-long trip to Tenerife, armed with the cool bag containing my medication. I was delighted with the results! The bag lived up to all the claims and I had total peace of mind. When I reached our destination, the thermometer I had placed inside the bag showed that the medication was still well within the required temperature range.

The only issue I had whilst on holiday was actually with the full-sized fridge in the apartment in which we were staying, as the temperature in it fluctuated quite a bit and I had to keep checking it in order to regulate the temperature accordingly. To that end, I actually used my travel bag for storage each day as I could rely completely on it and only stored the medication in the fridge when the cool packs were freezing.

To other travellers who may find themselves in a similar situation, I can thoroughly recommend the Cool*Safe bag! I found it to be totally reliable and it has given me full peace of mind to be able to travel, knowing that my medication is being kept at the correct temperature when I am travelling. I’m now just planning my next trip….. 😊
