Since 2008, the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), founded in 1900 in Hamburg, is an independent and non-profit research institution. As a foundation, the BNITM is involved in research, teaching, training and advanced training as well as consultation and care on the subject of tropical diseases and emerging infectious diseases.
